WELCOME to PSTRS (4 th)

We would like to invite you to The 4thd Progress in Science and Technology Research Symposium (PSTRS) 2022 will be conducted on August 11,2022, Host by the Universitas Negeri Padang, West Sumatera, Indonesia.
The aim of the Symposium is to bring together scholars, students, researchers, and administrators from different countries, and to discuss theoretical and practical issues in the fields of Science and Technology. Your prospective, valuable contributions on this field will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee and the ones approved to be presented will also be published in the Journal and Proceedings.
All accepted manuscripts will be published in publisher to be indexed by Scopus. *T&C

1. Datuk Prof. Dr. Harith Bin Ahmad

University of Malaya

Datuk Professor Harith Ahmad was born in 1954 and received his B.Sc.(Hons) in Physics at University of Malaya in 1979, M.Sc. in High Voltage Technology and PhD. in Laser Technology from University of Wales, UK in 1980 and 1983 respectively. He began his academic career at the University of Malaya in 1983 as a lecturer and is currently the Director of Photonics Research Centre at the same university.His areas of expertise and research interest are Quantum Electronics and Lasers (Laser Technology), Fibre Optics and Waveguides (Plannar Lightwave Circuit), Fibre Optics and Waveguides (Fiber Optic Technology). He has published more than 520 articles in ISI-indexed journals. He has supervised more than 30 PhD students and over 30 MSc students.. He is a member Majlis Professor Negara-Malaysia, Merdeka Award Nomination Committee, etc



   

2. Dr. Taro Sonobe

Kyoto University

Dr. Taro Sonobe is Research Administrator and Sub-leader of the International Group at Kyoto University Research Administration (KURA) office in Kyoto University, where he has been working as URA since 2007. Currently, he is also a member of Provost-Office and International Strategy Office at Kyoto University. He has also served as Deputy-Directors for Kyoto University ASEAN Center in Bangkok, Thailand as well as Kyoto University European Center in Heidelberg, Germany. During 2008 – 2012, he served as Global COE Assistant Professor at Graduate School of Energy Science of Kyoto University. He received his Ph. D. in Energy Technology from the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thailand in 2007. At KURA office, he has developed various research development programs (RDP) to strengthen research activities as well as support researchers at Kyoto University. For example, he serves as the program leader of the【間: AI DA】managed by Kyoto University Research Administration (KURA) in collaboration with international funding agencies and academic publisher such as DAAD: German Academic Exchange Service to accelerate international carrier development of ambitious early career researchers (ECRs). http://www.oc.kyoto-u.ac.jp/exchange/kyoto-daad-reports/en/In 2019, he has been appointed as a leader for promotion under the planning committee of International Network of Research Management Societies (INORMS 2021 Hiroshima) and generated the awareness of capacity development for research management and administration in the ASEAN region. Recently, he has jointly initiated the project of series of 7 online webinars on Science, Technology, and Innovation Coordinators in Japan and ASEAN towards Grand Challenges in collaboration with the ASEAN Foundation, JASTIP and the Science and Technology Division of ASEAN Secretariat from August 2020 to March 2021. This joint project has greatly generated the mutual awareness of developing STI coordinators and their network in ASEAN and Japan.

1. Hendri, Ph.D

Electrical Engineering Department

Hendri Masdi is a Senior Lecture and the Head of Laboratory at the Engineering Faculty, University of Padang (UNP), Indonesia. He received his bachelor’s degree of Engineering from the UNP in 1987, Master of Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology in 2000, and Ph.D. from University of Putra Malaysia in 2011. His research interest mainly focusses on power electronics, control and automation, renewable energy, and power systems. His teaching experience includes power plant, electrical quality and safety, electrical installation, electrical machine maintenance and repair, etc. He is also a dedicated member of The Institution of Engineers Indonesia (PII), Forum Pendidikan Tinggi Teknik Elektro Indonesia (FORTEI), Asosiasi Profesional Elektrikal Indonesia (APEI) and Ikatan Ahli Ketenagalistrik Indonesia (IATKI). Published in more than 20 articles, local and international journals. Speaks in more than 15 International seminars and workshops. In 2019, He had succeeded in developing a FACTS device model for mitigating voltage sag which dealt with a static synchronous condenser, as the implementation of new technologies.

2. Milana, Ph.D

Automotive Engineering Universitas Negeri Padang

Milana completed her undergraduate in Industrial Engineering, Andalas University, in 2004. She received her MSc in Manufacturing Management from the University of Bradford, Bradford, UK, in 2011. She then continued her study and joined the Automotive Research Centre at this university, by conducting research on automotive maintenance management. She managed to get her PhD in 2019. She has been a faculty member of Automotive Engineering at Universitas Negeri Padang, Indonesia, since 2008. Her research interests include performance measurement, knowledge management and knowledge-based/expert systems with applications in manufacturing system. Scopus ID:

3. Dr. Eng. Okta Suryani

Chemisty Department – Universitas Negeri Padang

Okta Suryani was born in Solok, West Sumatera, Indonesia, in 1989. She received her Bachelor (2012) from Universitas Negeri Padang and M.Sc (2015) from Unniversitas Gadjah Mada, she then obtained his PhD from Tokyo Metropolitan University, under the direction of Professor Yuji Kubo, in 2018. In 2018, she was appointed as a Lecturer at Universitas Negeri Padang. Her interest in organic synthesis, supramolecular analytical chemistry, self-assembled materials, and semiconductor for hydrogen production through water splitting. Her works have been published in reputable journals.

4. Rijal Satria, Ph.D

Biology Department – Universitas Negeri Padang

Rijal Satria is one of productive researchers in the Department of Biology, Universitas Negeri Padang. He completed his undergraduate program in 2010 at the Department of Biology, Universitas Andalas. He obtained the Master of Science in the field of Earth and Environment in 2014 from the University of Kagoshima, Japan. Three years later, he finished his Doctor of philosophy in biological science at Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan. His research interests are in animal ecology and taxonomy, ornithology, entomology, etc. In the last 5 years, Rijal Satria has produced many scientific publications in reputable international journals as a result of the his international research collaboration.
